The Dementia Unit is a self contained wing and provides a greater degree of help and security for those suffering from the effects of memory loss. Residents in this wing are protected from wandering by key pad security and so families can be sure that their relatives are properly looked after in a caring and intensively supported location at all times. Rooms are all provided with toilet and washing facilities and residents are encouraged to bring some of their own belongings. Activities in the Dementia unit are often tailored to their more specific and individual needs but care is taken to make sure that some organised activities and outings are appropriate for Dementia care residents.
