Read the latest report
We are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection under the Care Standards Act 2000 and does not offer Nursing Care. The friendly and experienced staff provide a caring and secure environment 24 hours a day and aim to offer whatever help is required without taking away the resident's independence. A local GP visits regularly and the home maintains links with the local community. Most of the comfortable spacious rooms are on the ground floor overlooking the attractive gardens and all have en-suite facilities. The rooms are fully centrally heated and have emergency call cords in the bedroom and the bathroom. Telephone and television aerial points are fitted in each room. A stair lift is available to the 3 first floor rooms. Residents may bring some of their own furniture and personal possessions after consultation with the Manager.
Good Fun
There is a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who actively encourages the residents in a range of social and one-to-one activities. Regular trips in the home's minibus are a feature and residents also enjoy outside entertainers visiting the home, craft sessions and social activities. An active Residents' Committee helps to set the agenda of the activities programme.
Lovely environment
Residents are encouraged to use the extensive private garden
with level paths and sunny patio areas.
Maintenance staff will assist if any resident wishes to continue
a hobby of gardening.
Great Food
Considerable attention is paid to providing the highest possible standard of meals with a varied daily choice. The aim is to offer an interesting well-balanced diet with good fresh food. Special diets are catered for.
Special Care
The Special Care Wing enables the Home to offer a more dedicated standard
of care to Residents who are mentally frail and confused but do not require
Nursing Care. This is provided in a smaller secured unit designed for
the needs of Residents with Dementia.
The team of dedicated staff aims to maintain a family atmosphere organising
activities around daily life and rehabilitation. Relatives and friends
are actively encouraged to become part of the "family".
